Good Morning Maria
I finally found the right battery for my old digital so these are my first
pictures of Leroy for the new year. Anyway we started puppy school on
Tuesday. Andrea (the trainer) recognized him right away...hey Leroy
..how's it going? He recognized the other girl and I could tell the way he
greeted her that he liked her. He was the oldest, the largest, the only
purebred and he was THE best!! I was so proud of him!!!
He really liked the little poodle/something cross who was sweet as can be.
Leroy would lay down and let the puppy come to him...he was mostly kind to
him but when they started playing--he batted him one and the puppy shrieked
and I pulled Leroy away. I kept saying gentle to him and I thought he was
great as did they.
The next class had a big Great Dane sitting outside the door which Leroy
checked out as well as all the others that were waiting. But he really is
taken with the little ones....I guess that is the protective instinct in
him. He is in love with Sam next door...he was able to play with her one
day. He sits on the deck watching her every move ....kinda funny cause she
is sitting there looking up ...he probably thinks she feels the same...when
in reality she is waiting for me to open the door and give them both a
cookie!!! Ha! Ha! Ha! GUYS aye!!! :-)
I am so sick of this cold winter and snow!! I am really looking forward to
spring! I will keep you posted on the Leroy and his schooling.

Hey Maria!!
Maggie is a doll!! She is doing great. She is so smart. Thank you for the
pre-training you must have done. She's a lot smarter with better people
temperament than our same age Dobe bitch. She's just absolutely perfect!
Thank you so much! If we get another Shepherd, it will absolutely be from
you. Attached are a few pics of Maggie with her new family and
friends. She seems very happy, eating and drinking well, loving life!... And
all of the plumbing is working! Have a nice day!
Best regards,
Peter

Hi Maria---JJ's little sister is an
eleven and a half year old over weight Jack Russell. Remember we couldn't
put the two of them together well when I retired and we knew Katie couldn't
hurt him we put them together. She still doesn't want anything to do with
him but he loves her. Every once in a while he gets the devil in him and
will bug her just to see how mad she will get. She is too old to be able to
grab him and besides this she doesn't have many teeth left. JJ would never
do anything to hurt her.
JJ still has a lot of pup in him. He is still taken everyday for a three
mile run with his two friends the chocolate labs at the off leash park. He
will come home and sleep till 2PM and then he wants to play. We still throw
a ball for him in the backyard for about an hour and a half. He loves little
kids when my niece and nephew who are 5 and 8 come here he is all over them
and is smart enough to know he is to be gentle with them.
We love him dearly. Thanks again.

Hi Maria,
So good to hear from you as well. Thought I would send some updated pics of
our beautiful girl in her amazing winter coat! Her first Xmas tree over here
as we have been constantly doing renos. She was quite intrigued with the
whole thing, as always. Just an inquisitive girl, which I know will never
change. We are enjoying the holidays and I love that my girl is a snow
bunny! She just loves the snow and makes us laugh so much. We have had a
great holiday with our families and now it's just the three of us for a few
days and we're quite enjoying it. Now that the wind chill isn't a factor we
have been able to take her out and just let her rip around the area. What a
nut ball...we love her so much. It's been a fantastic Christmas. I hope you
all had a great Xmas and that Santa was good to you and yours.. and all the
fur babies of course! Happy New Year and we will chat again soon. Thanks
again for the Xmas wishes and take care of you. Enjoy!

What a joy this little guy is. When I
opened the crate in the pick up area he took 2 steps out, but left his back
feet in the crate, stood tall and puffed his chest and just look side to
side. I was about 4 feet in front of him kneeling down to his size, I called
out "baby nitro" and he came running! What a personality.
He can be so full of himself when he carries his toys around, he will trip
on one then continue where he left off, it just cracks me up. He is
definitely a lover and wants to be touching me all the time. I am starting
to work him out of it. He hates the crate with a passion. Even with the
command and the banging on the top does not quiet him down! When I place my
fingers and he can smell and touch them for a moment then he stays calm as I
remove them. His first night home I put his crate on the bed and had my
fingers through the door, I could feel him sleeping on them. Then at 430
bang the crate fell on the floor! I jumped up and stood there amazed that he
did not even make a noise. I reached into the crate and he was at the bottom
curled up.
At his vet appointment he was a rock star, even for the chip. He then lay
down on the table and put his head down to take a nap. He is so laid back
yet so cocky it is great to have this little guy. JaKai does not like him
yet, she thinks he has cooties and wont let him touch her. And boy does he
try. I am sure that within the next few days she will come around.
Thank you for my little champ

Hello again,
The vet really liked the looks of Oakley, weight was good, ears were good
and an all around really nice shape. He is definitely showing attitude, he
doesn't even back down (too much) from our other dog when it comes to
rawhides, etc., even though our other dog has about 60 lbs on him.
Finally warmed up, feels downright balmy, hope it stays that way, but we
know better, this is Manitoba!
Take care

Hey Maria! Happy New Year!
I was wondering when you think you may have a little male available. I am
thinking of buying a friend for Shayla in the spring and I have been wanting
a male for a while. I looked on your website and you don’t have any males!
At least not that I could see.
Shayla is doing fabulous!! She came through her spay very nicely and she is
a real joy to our family. She is SO affectionate and we are very very happy
with her. I am including a picture so you can see how gorgeous she is
becoming. I watched your video on You Tube showing all the dogs with the
song sexy back playing in the background, I laughed.....how true, these dogs
DO definitely bring sexy back, at least in the animal kingdom!! HA HA
I am so proud of Shayla, everywhere I go people say how gorgeous she is, the
last comment we got was that she was absolutely stunning!!! Her personality
is the most amazing thing, she is so smart. But I know you hear that all the
time about your dogs!
I will be anxious to hear when you think you may have a little boy
available,
Thanks Maria,
Leslie

Thanks Maria.
Glad to hear you are happy with the pups as I am with Targo .. he is a very
handsome BIG boy with a "don't mess with me" look to his face .. he is so
funny. He comes running to me and then just flops on the floor and rolls
over for a tummy rub, he is definitely "mama's boy". He goes on JAN 10th for
his rabies shot so he will get weighed again. His companion, Gina, is also a
big girl. She is 5 1/2 months - 6 months old come JAN 1st and is just about
22" to the shoulder - weight wise - I'm guessing over 50 for sure. Targo is
40 and about 3 inches shorter but she can still knock him down and hold him
with no problem.. So far they are both similar in coloring and markings.
Time will tell of course. Sometimes it crosses my mind just to forget
the conformation thing and go with CD and then Shutzhund but then I think it
would be nice if Targo could make you and his mama and papa proud of him in
that area too.!! lol. I will say bye for now and hope you and yours have a
very Merry Christmas.
Take care .. talk soon

Hi Maria,
Thanks for all your info. I think I expected Chevy to eat right away and it is
just taking him sometime to get use to the place. I might put a bit of wet
just to get him more interested in the food. He is so smart. I just love
him. He is exactly what I needed and wanted. I have had so many people
comment on him and his paws are HUGE!!! One of the pictures is him a sleep
in the car...loves to go in the car or truck...sleeps!!! He isn't too sure
what those BIG DOGS (horses) are that live in the barn but is great around
them.
I will stay in touch and send pictures as he grows.
Thanks Jane

Hi Maria,
I hope all is well, I am so sorry that it has taken me this long to give you
an update on how we have been doing...Colbie is GREAT! we weighed her last
week and she was 60lbs, and getting bigger daily. The vet says she is a bit
underweight but she assures us not to be worried, she said with the amount
of food Colbie has been eating it will only be a matter of time till she
fills out. We had Colbie spayed in November and everything went awesome!!
She was such a good girl she didn't have to wear a cone on her head, (too
bad I was looking forward to those pictures). lol We are starting our second
round of puppy training, she is doing very well, some times I think I have a
harder time keeping track of what we are supposed to be doing than she does
(haha) I am going to attempt to attach a picture of Colbie to this e-mail,
let me know if it doesn't work. I thank you very much for Colbie, she keeps
us moving and keeps us happy. I promise it will not take me this long again
to give you another update. Take Care, Hope to hear from you soon.
